Andre Ward has not fought in Oakland, CA since knocking out Chad Dawson back in 2012. Ward via his Instagram page today signified that he is returning home to fight at Oracle Arena (home of the Golden State Warriors) on June 20th. As of right now, no foe has been announced, but it appears that the bout may end up being televised on BET making it the first televised live boxing match in the networks history.

Ward, who had been in a contentious contract dispute between himself and former promoter Dan Goossen has been out of action since defeating Edwin Rodriguez in 2013. Ward in January of this current year was bought out of his old contract by Jay Z’s Roc Nation Sports/Thorne Boxing after the death of Dan Goossen late last year due to liver cancer. This would be the first fight for Ward under the new promotion and the second event put on by the new promotion.
