Floyd Mayweather defeated Manny Pacquiao this weekend in dominant decision win which netted a gate of 72 million and ungodly numbers for the whole event which will be released shortly. On ESPN’s SportsCenter Twitter Account, Stephen A. Smith, an ESPN personality, explained that he received a text message from Floyd Mayweather saying he would give a rematch to Manny Pacquiao.

The news comes after hearing that Manny Pacquiao will be out for about a year, so this would mean if a rematch does happen, it’d take place for Mayweather’s 50th fight, the one he says he will not take. The big thing that this news means to me is the fact that this opens the door to a bidding war between all networks for a Mayweather-Pacquiao rematch if Mayweather does take his last contractual Showtime fight this September.
