Golovkin vs. Froch? Froch’s promoter thinks it is possible for summer

According to Eddie Hearn in a feature published today by The Daily Mail, Carl Froch is very tempted to make his farewell fight to the sport of boxing as tough as possible as he would like to welcome Gennady Golovkin to the super middleweight division. To add extra spice to the match up, Hearn believed the bout would take place at Wembley Stadium, matching the huge event atmosphere of Froch’s last bout against George Groves.

So the bigger question is this good gamesmanship to generate pub as Hearn has a fighter fighting stateside this weekend in James DeGale and Carl Froch will be doing broadcast duties for Sky Sports. It seems a little, how do we say, well prepared that, Hearn would pick mid-fight week to announce the idea of such a match up?

Nonetheless, what do people think of this match up? Would this be adequate for Golovkin? Is it unfair to demand Golovkin to move up eight pounds in weight for “the big drama show” he has been wanting? Let us know?
