Fight fans may not have been happy in the UK with Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom Boxing schedule of events for 2015 on Sky Sports, but that has not swayed Sky Sports from extended a contract with UK promoter for five more years into 2021.

The deal will give Sky Sports the exclusive UK rights to James DeGale, Kell Brook, Lee Selby, Kevin Mitchell, Scott Quigg, Luke Campbell and many more under the Matchroom Boxing roster. The deal will net 20 shows each year with forms of promotional programming on various channels to build up to some events.

This news comes as bitter sweet to a lot of British fight fans as Hearns’ cards in late 2014 and 2015 have been on average less than stellar and with a large quantity of dates to fill, a subtle sigh might be muttered as this might usher in more of the same
