Ray Beltran test positive for PED, out of June 27th fight on HBO

Ray Beltran’s career is becoming a series of errors and what could of been, as Beltran tested positive for the anabolic steroid stanozolol after his second round knockout over Takahiro Ao. The fight was originally suppose to be for the WBO lightweight title, but Beltran missed weight making the win another close call for a title as he lost the belt on the scales. Beltran by my most people’s perception beat Ricky Burns, but was given a draw and then outclassed by Terrance Crawford.

The positive test will take Beltran out of the June 27th fight with Humberto Soto, which will be the second fight in a row an opponent was pulled from a fight with Soto, who last month saw Frankie Gomez get TKO’ed by the scales forcing that bout to be canceled.  The win over Ao will now more than likely be ruled a no contest as BadLeftHook.com is reporting that Jose Felix Jr. might be Soto’s replacement
