Last week it was reported that Danny Garcia would make his long awaited return to the ring on August 1st at yet to be announced venue, but heavily believed to be in Brooklyn, NY at the Barclays Center. Dan Rafael of ESPN.com has now reported that Paulie Malignaggi might be the man stepping in to welcome Danny Garcia to the welterweight division.

This would be the second time Malignaggi welcomes a fighter to welterweight as in 2013 Malignaggi fought Adrien Broner, who moved up two weight classes to beat him. The bout would be televised by ESPN.
