Main Events signs middleweight Arif Magomedov

As Main Events continues its search across the globe for top prospects, the New Jersey-based promotional company added another undefeated Russian to their lineup.

Middleweight, Arif ‘Mayhem’ Magomedov (15-0, 9 KOs), is the fifth international fighter, on an already stacked roster, that Main Events co-promotes with an overseas promoter. Main Events has always strived to find the best and brightest prospects in the industry and continues to work with promoters from around the world to expose new fighters to US audiences.

This time they have joined forces with Gevorg Tatevosyan of the Russia-based Shamo Boxing Promotions to co-promote ‘Mayhem.’

Born in Kizlyar, Russia, “Mayhem” Magomedov, is only 22 years old, yet he has 15 professional fights since his pro debut just two years ago. He is undefeated as a pro with a 60% knockout-to-win ratio including his most recent bout, a first round TKO over veteran Darnell Boone on May 22 in Las Vegas. In April, he defeated another veteran, Derrick Findley, in eight rounds in Costa Mesa, California.

When asked about this new opportunity Arif said, “I am very excited to work with Main Events. This gives me opportunity to fight in United States and help me to become star here.”

His co-promoter, Gevorg Tatevosyan, of Shamo Boxing Promotions said, “We are looking forward to working with Main Events. We are very excited for this new opportunity for Arif to fight in United States.”

Shamir Petrosyan, Arif’s manager, also said, “This is the next big step for Arif towards becoming a superstar. He is ready and excited to show US fans his talents. We are looking forward to working with Kathy Duva and Main Events on this top-notch Russian prospect.”

Main Events CEO, Kathy Duva, said, “‘Mayhem’ is a fighter in a very hot division and we expect him to make his mark in it very soon. At just 22 years old, he has a long and bright future ahead of him that we are so happy to play a part in.”
