Shawn Porter Hopes To Land Clash With Floyd Mayweather Jr.
On June 20th Shawn “Showtime” Porter will face Adrien “The Problem” Broner on PBC which has been titled as the Battle for Ohio. The fight will be held at a catchweight of 144lbs. Porter is hoping that a great performance against Broner will line him up to be the front runner for Mayweather’s last fight in September. Porter has said that Broner and Mayweather both have that sit in the pocket style and that he can take great advantage of it. Porter says ” He’s (Broner) settled down into more of a Floyd Mayweather kind of style…I have to push the action to make him uncomfortable.” This won’t be the first time someone has earned a shot at Mayweather after fighting Broner. Marcos Maidana earned his shot for the big money fight after he beat Broner in a unanimous decision. Broner was knocked down twice in that fight and took a lot of punishment. Marcos went on to fight Mayweather not once but twice after the Broner fight, each time the outcome ending in defeat for Maidana. Nonetheless Maidana earned his biggest paydays and is off somewhere living comfortably.
If Porter can pull off the victory against Broner do you think he will land the big payday against Mayweather? Would you like to see Mayweather-Porter??
