Dejan Zlaticanin stops Ivan Redkach, now WBC lightweight #1 contender

Birmingham, Ala – Dejan Zlaticanin (21-0, 14 KOs) systematically beat down Ivan Redkach (18-1, 1 KOs) over the course of four rounds to earn an impressive technical knockout over the favorite Redkach.

Zlaticanin up until this point was just know as ‘the guy who beat Ricky Burns’ , but now is the number one contender to Jorge Linares’ WBC lightweight title. Zlaticanin overwhelmed Redkach who looked confused by the aggression and power of Zlaticanin and was unable to change things up. Redkach tried to fight back , but seemed to only get hurt more as he did as he suffered both a questionable low blow that seemed like it could of been a legit body shot as well as a clash of heads.

The end came in the fourth round as Zlaticanin put Redkach on the ropes and let off a flurry of punches forcing the referee to call an end to the action. This past year it is important to note that Al Haymon signed Zlaticanin to a contract.
