Golden Boy Live results: Gonzalez wins wildly entertaining fight

Even though Golden Boy Promotions is no longer going to be televised by Fox Sports 1 super lightweight Gilberto “El Flaco” Gonzalez (26-3, 21 KOs) scored a fantastic TKO over  Hevinson Herrera (17-11-1, 11 KOs) on Thursday night at the historic Belasco Theater in downtown Los Angeles in an incredibly fun fight. Herrera rocked Gonzalez and had him hurt only for Gonzalez to return the favor in the at the end of the round.  The final round, the third, saw Gonzalez go down from a slip and hurt his right knee. An injured Gonzalez baited  Herrera into a corner as he unloaded heavy shots until the bout was waved off by ref.

 

In other bouts undefeated featherweight Diego  de la Hoya (11-0, 7 KOs) scored an explosive fourth round knockout  over Jose Estrella (14-7-1, 10 KOs). Unbeaten super bantamweight Oscar Negrete moved to 11-0, 3 KOs, after outpointing Ramiro “Zurdo” Robles (12-4-1, 6 KOs) over eight rounds.  Unbeaten featherweight Emilio Sanchez (9-0, 6 KOs) won an eight round unanimous decision over Jose Cen-Torres (13-8, 1 KO) by scores of 60-54, 59-55, 58-56.
