Fairfield, CA’s Avila to co-main event HBO Latino card on August 8th

Manuel “Tino” Avila (17-0 7 KOs) of Fairfield, CA will take on former world title contender Yoandris “El Nino” Salinas (21-1-2 14KOs) of Miami, Fl for the NABF super bantamweight title which will now be the co-main event of HBO Latino broadcast on August 8th headlined by Johan Perez vs. Dmitry Mikhaylenko. The card which takes places at Fantasy Springs Resort Casino in Indio, CA, saw the Luis “The Real King Kong” Ortiz (22-0 19KOs) and Alonzo “Big Zo” Butler (30-3-1 22KOs) scrapped from the card prompting Avila and Salinas to get the promotion.

 

In the opening televised bout, Tevin Farmer (19-4-1, 4 KOs) of Philadelphia will fight Juan Rodriguez (25-5, 22 KOs) of Puebla, Mexico in a 10-round super featherweight fight. The undercard (which will not broadcast on HBO) will feature undefeated featherweight Joet Gonzalez (11-0, 4 KOs) of Glendora, Ca., Palm Desert junior middleweight Neeco Macias (8-0, 4 KOs), and middleweight Quilisto Madera (1-0) of Las Vegas in action.
