Mayweather-Berto official for September 12th on PPV

Floyd Mayweather will be fighting Andre Berto on September 12th at The MGM Grand, which most basically knew by now, but the biggest shock of the announcement was the fact that the event will be on pay-per-view.  The bout is being  billed as $64.95/$74.95HD. The price point has angered some as Las Vegas has set Mayweather as a 80 to 1 favorite, an almost unheard of line, which seemingly would reflect if nothing else one would think, a reduced price in pay-per-view price point.

The undercard will feature Roman “Rocky” Martinez defending his WBO junior lightweight title in a rematch against the boxer he dethroned to win the title, Orlando “Siri” Salido. In addition, Badou Jack  will make the first defense of his WBC super middleweight world title against mandatory challenger George Groves (21-2, 16 KOs). The opening bout for the pay-per-view card will be announced soon as rumors are swirling around if it will be Ishe Smith vs. Vanes Martirosyan or Jose Pedraza vs. Jhonny Gonzalez, both of which have been linked to this card.
