In a press release sent to the media yesterday, Anthony Dirrell vs. Marco Antonio Rubio will serve as the main event on Sunday, September 6th at American Bank Center Arena in Corpus Christi, Texas. This came as a surprise as with good authority it was being stated the bout would be between Cornelius Bundrage-Jermall Charlo for the IBF junior middleweight title, which is now completely off the card.

The card will be a two fight card taking place on the first football Sunday of the year as Dirrell will look to return winning ways after losing to Badou Jack earlier this year. The opening bout will be a rematch of a fight of the year contender in WBA bantamweight champion Jamie McDonnell vs. Tomoki Kameda who fought earlier this year in Texas on CBS, in one of the best bouts of the year as stated previously.
