Brook-Chaves to air on Showtime, investing in Khan-Brook?

Showtime Sports has confirmed it will pick up the IBF welterweight world championship fight between undefeated defending champion Kell Brook and veteran tough guy Diego Chaves on October 24 from Motorpoint Arena in Sheffield, England. The bout will be aired live in the USA at 5:45PM ET / 2:45PM PT at an unusual time listed prior due to the overseas aspect.

One has to think the investment from Showtime to continue to pick up Kell Brook fights must mean that they’re banking on a future Amir Khan-Kell Brook super-fight which they would be more than happy to pay for.

Brook (35-0, 24 KOs) will make his third consecutive title defense of 2015, with Chaves being the biggest name on the list and that sort of says it all. Chaves (23-2-1, 19 KOs) is coming off a draw to Timothy Bradley in which many felt Bradley outclassed Chaves.
