Verdejo to return October 31st

Red hot lightweight contender Felix ‘El Diamante’ Verdejo (18-0, 13 KOs) will return to the squared circle on October 31 at the Exhibition Center Osceola Heritage Park in Kissimmee, Florida. The unbeaten Olympian will be defending his WBO Latino title against Brazilian Josenilson Dos Santos (27-3, 17 KOs) in a bout to be televised on UniMas. Verdejo is returning just three months after undergoing surgery on his left hand to repair an injury suffered in his June win against Ivan ‘Bam Bam’ Najera in New York City. Tickets, priced at $67 and $35, go on sale Sunday at 10AM at the the Silver Spurs Arena box office and Ticketmaster.

“I’m more than happy to come back here, where I have been treated so well,” said Verdejo. “I want Florida to be one of our places to fight, along with Puerto Rico and New York. I hope with the warmth my people give me that I’ll be able to give back all the love with a big win. Thank God my hand is better every day. And by the 31st it’ll be stronger than ever, so I’m dying to get back to being healthy and ready to continue give joy to my people.”
