Monaghan, Solomon win on Friday Night

“Irish” Seanie Monaghan outpointed a game Donovan “Da bomb” George on Friday night at the Aviator Sports and Events Center in Brooklyn, NY. George who injured his right hand in the third round seemingly won over the fans as though he was losing each round taunted Monaghan as well as landed well for a fighter with one hand. Monaghan showed poise to stick to his game plan and soundly out point George in route to a  100-90, 100-90, 99-91 win on all three judges cards

In the co-main event Brad “King” Solomon (26-0, 9 KOs) out worked Raymond “Tito” Serrano (21-3, 9 KOs) over ten rounds with the judges giving the Solomon the nod with the scores of 100-90, 98-92, 97-93.  The bout was competitive to start with Solomon getting knocked down, but the knockdown being ruled a slip by the referee. After the fifth round, the odd, herky-jerky style of Solomon seemed to befuddle Serrano who was unable to make a second adjustment. During the bout one of Solomon’s trainers, Roy Jones Jr. commented that he would Solomon to visit more of to learn how to sit down on shots to set up power as Solomon seemingly has been void of his big fight due to his style creating weird fights.
