Crawford-Lundy verbally agreed to for Feb. 27th on HBO

Terence Crawford is set for his New York debut on February 27, which appears to be set in principle

Per a report by Mike Coppinger of BoxingJunkie, Coppinger was informed that a verbal agreement between the two parties is in place for Crawford to defend his WBO junior welterweight title.

The opening bout which will round out the HBO card taking place at The Theater at Madison Square Garden will feature Felix Verdejo, though no opponent has been named.

The 140-pound fight will headline an HBO card from The Theater at Madison Square Garden, with BoxingJunkie’s 2015 Prospect of the Year, Felix Verdejo, in the co-feature.

Crawford was rumored to get the Manny Pacquiao fight in April 9th, which ended up going to Timothy Bradley. This will be Crawford’s first bout in New York City.

Lundy will be a live dog coming into the bout as a man who has spent his whole career fighting on the road in order to get fights. Lundy never had a major promoter and has given Mauricio Herrera, Thomas Dulorme and Viktor Postol all competitive fights when he faced them in his career. To this point, this will be Crawford’s toughest test.
