Karim Mayfield to fight Dmitry Mikhalenko on HBO

One man’s loss is another man’s time to shine as days after Ray Robinson was forced to pull out of a fight with welterweight Dmitry “The Mechanic” Mikhaylenko (20-0, 9 KOs), Karim “Hard Hitta” Mayfield (19-2-1, 11 KOs) will step in to replace Robinson on late notice. Last year, it was heavily rumored that Robinson was going to fight Mayfield, but that fight never took place, but Mikhaylenko this will be a big step-up in competition for him up until this point.

The bout will serve as the co-main event of the January 30th as the HBO lead-in on the World Championship Boxing telecast which is headlined  Sergey “Krusher” Kovalev (28-0-1, 25 KOs) and Jean Pascal (30-3-1, 17 KOs) who are rematching from their bout last year.
