Lucas Matthysse’s eye is still bothering him and will keep him out of his upcoming bout on May 7th on the undercard of Canelo Alvarez-Amir Khan. ESPN.com reported earlier today that in prep for his fight against Mauricio Herrera at 147 lbs. he experienced discomfort in his eye and wanted to rest some more. Golden Boy matchmaker Eric Gomez was quick to point out this is not a retirement for Matthysse, but it appears Matthysse may not have much left.
