Virgil Hunter spoke to a gang of media this afternoon in the media center at the MGM Grand to talk about his fighter Amir Khan, taking on Canelo Alvarez this Saturday in Las Vegas, NV, which for those of not in Las Vegas can watch on HBO pay-per-view.

“Canelo is a middleweight, I don’t care what nobody says, he is a middleweight, okay! I will just leave it right at that, you can ask anybody.” said Virgil Hunter. “The man got the belt don’t he, then he is a middleweight. On Saturday night, they’re going to say for the middleweight championship of the world, aren’t they going to say that? Canelo is a [expletive] middleweight!”

Virgil Hunter quickly told all around the table that you should excuse his language as he referenced the fighters at his gym in Hayward, CA as his kids and apologized for such harsh language.
