Rances Barthelemy gets off canvas to retain belt over Mickey Bey

In an exciting main event Rances Barthelemy defended his IBF lightweight title against former world champion Mikey Bey on Friday night at The Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida broadcast. The fight was competitive from the start, but saw a strange knockdown that most feel was a head butt drop Barthelemy , but counted as a knockdown. In the middle rounds, Barthelemy would rally back winning a lot of close swing rounds and seemingly win the fight in the later half of the fight. The judges scored the bout 117-110 Barthelemy, 117-110 Bey and 116-111 Barthelemy, making Barthelemy the winner by way of split decision

In the swing bout of the Spike TV telecast, middleweight prospect Caleb “Sweet Hands” Plant (13-0, 10 KOs) stopped Carlos Galvan (12-5-1, 11 KOs) with a left hand 45(hybrid of a uppercut and hook) to the stomach in round four. Galvan stayed on the canvas for the full ten count.

In the co-main event, bantamweight Emmanuel Rodriguez (15-0, 10 KOs) picked up a dominant ten round unanimous decision over Alberto “Metro” Guevara (24-3, 9 KOs) Florida. The scores were 99-91, 99-91 and 100-90.

Lightweight Gervonta “The One” Davis (16-0, 15 KOs) stopped with the first clean punch he landed Mario “Huracan” Macias Rorozco (28-19, 14 KOs) as he recorded a quick first round knockout before the televised portion of the card.
