Orlando Salido-Francisco Vargas fight to draw, Abraham Lopez wins on HBO

Francisco Vargas and Orlando Salido fought to a draw on Saturday night at the StubHub Center in Carson, California. In a fight in which the whole bout was contested at the length of a phone booth, both men traded shots leaving each other battered and bruised. Salido appeared to be the more dominant fighter with Vargas winning a few of the later rounds to even it up. The judges saw the bout 114-114, 114-114, 115-113 Vargas. Vargas keeps his WBC super featherweight title with the draw.

 

 

 

In a surprising upset, Abraham “Chamaco” Lopez (21-0-1, 15KO) won an unanimous decision victory over top Golden Boy prospect Julian “El Camaron” Ramirez (16-1, 8KO). The judges saw the bout97-93, 98-92 and 97-93 all in favor of Abraham Lopez.

In a wild slugfest Gabriel Rosado escaped with victory despite hearing it from the crowd as Antonio Gutierrez (21-2-1, 9 KOs) gave him all he could handel. Gutierrez dropped Rosado hard in the fourth round and saw Rosado not really trying to engage, but being forced into at times. The bout was scored 95-94, 96-93 and 95-94, all in favor of Rosado.
