WBO welterweight champion Jessie Vargas (27-1, 10 KO) confirmed on Facebook yesterday that he will be fighting IBF welterweight champion Kell Brook (36-0, 25 KO) in England on HBO pay-per-view on September 3rd.

Vargas, who has been looking for a big fight since being rumored for Manny Pacquiao around the time Chris Algieri fought Manny Pacquiao has been held-out of the big fight minus an odd fight with Tim Bradley on regular HBO. This will both fighters debut on pay-per-view in the United States.

Brook, who is consider a top 5 welterweight since beating Shawn Porter two years ago in Carson, CA has not really fought anyone of note since, but to be fair no one has really stepped up to want to fight him as well.

Vargas on the other hand, upset heavily favored Sadam Ali earlier this year to win the WBO welterweight title.
