ALA Promotions holding Bay Area card on July 9th

July 9th will be a busy day for Northern California boxing as three cards will take place with in three hours of each other, but Philippine based promotion, ALA Promotion will hold an event in San Mateo, CA at the San Mateo Events Center.

The card which will be headlined by super bantamweight “Prince” Albert Pagara and NABO flyweight champion “Little Pac Man” Joebert Alvarez. Alvarez is a Bay Area transplant having moved to Oakland, CA to workout at Donaire Sr. Boxing Gym with Nonito Donaire Sr. on Park Blvd near Lake Merritt. 

Pagara (26-0, 18 KOs) will fight a rugged veteran Cesar Juarez (17-5, 13 KOs) in second fight in the United States.  Juarez is best known for giving Nonito Donaire nearly all he could handle last year when Donaire won the WBO super bantamweight title


The undercard for “Fists of the Future” will feature Jason Pagana (38-2 23KOs) versus Abraham Alvarez (21-9 10KOs) in a welterweight bout, featherweight Hector Valdez (6-0 5KOs) taking on Vincent Jennings (5-1 4KOs), Hayward’s own Mauricio Zavaleta (2-2 2KOs) training out of The Kennel Boxing Gym will face Sacramento, CA based Darren Mallard (3-1) in a junior middleweight bout. Super flyweight Israel Hernandez (0-2-1) of Kennel Boxing will look for his first professional win against Michael Flores (pro debut), rising boxing welterweight superstar Rudy Macedo (2-0 2KOs) of Donaire Sr. Boxing Gym in Oakland, CA will be featured on the card as well as Lennard Davis (pro debut) will make his pro debut against David Figueroa (1-0)
