Kilo The Kid-Joe Louie Lopez set for September 10th

UPDATE: Fresno, CA promoter Rick Mirigian confirmed that “Kilo the Kid” will fight Joe Louie Lopez on September 10th.

Popular middleweight Quilisto “Kilo The Kid” Madera of Fresno, CA (3-0 1KO) may find himself in a huge bout in only his fourth fight as he is rumored to be facing popular Fresno, CA fighter Joe Louie Lopez (8-1 5KOs) on September 10th when Top Rank returns to Tachi Palace Casino and Resort in Lemoore, CA for another installment of ‘Solo Boxeo’.

Madera, a popular fighter from Stockton, CA has relocated to the Main Events Gym with his brother, Ector Madera, and is fully focused on his professional career. Recently he beat Rafael Valencia (3-4 2KOs) on July 9th at Tachi Palace, Lopez would be a jump up in competition for the young fighter.

Lopez, on the other hand is coming of a first round upset loss to Ernesto Martinez (12-10-1 6KOs), a lesser known journeyman type foe who caught Lopez cold with the first punch of the fight, a punch Lopez could never recover from. Lopez, a 32-year old fighter will now need to make things happen quick if he wishes to continue a career in boxing, hence the fight being a crossroads type match-up.

The card will be headlined by heavyweight Andy Ruiz taking on his toughest test to date Franklin Lawrence in the co-main event, Daniel Valdivia of Tulare, CA will also be featured on the card as well as Saul Lomas.
