Sammy Vasquez “I knew in my heart I lost”

Top welterweight prospect Sammy Vasquez suffered his first career loss on Saturday to Felix Diaz Jr. on national television, but on top of that may have lost out on a rivalry money bout between Errol Spence Jr. Though the fight may still manifest, it will never be the fight it once was.
“I knew in my heart I lost that fight. I tried my hardest but there were things I should have done that I didn’t do. We can’t look in the past. He’s a hell of fighter. He’s an Olympic gold medalist for a reason. He had a tough decision loss to Lamont Peterson. To me he was an undefeated Olympic gold medalist.”
The somber Vasquez sat at the podium like a man who was fired day’s before collecting his full pension, you could almost see him looking dumb founded like how could this of happened.
Vasquez ended up losing a decision that was originally ruled a draw, but due to a point deduction and bad mathematics saw him losing on the cards after the judges added up the totals once again. Vasquez was one of Premier Boxing Champions prospects that seemed groomed for bigger things as he has been a staple on Fox programming and even commentated smaller shows
