Guy Robb honored by Mayor Kevin Johnson in Sacramento

 On Monday, July 19th featherweight world title contender Guy Robb was asked to speak at indivizible, ran by the mayor of Sacramento, former NBA star Kevin Johnson. The Indivizible assembly is a forum and community for the black community of Sacramento to talk about issues relating to black and latino issues in the community at large.

Robb, who trains in the Oak Park district of Sacramento, a mere walk from the Guild Theatre in which the monthly series takes place, talked about his pride in being a member of the Sacramento community.

“I want to be Sacramento proud and I want Sacramento to be proud of me” said the life-long resident Robb as he looked at a packed room of social activists.

The mayor even got involved in the action as he asked Robb if he could join him for a run sometime in the near future, but only if Robb runs at a 10 mile pace as opposed to his usual six and half minute mile he is accustom to.

Robb, who fights Miguel Marriaga on August 27th in Fallon, Nevada at the Churchill County Fairgrounds which will be broadcast nationwide on UniMas and promoted by the biggest promotion in all of boxing, Top Rank Inc.
