The WBC champion may be out of the ring for the time being with a hand injury Deontay Wilder is expected until next year.

The WBC has ordered an interim bout between Alexander Povetkin and Bermane Stiverne with the winner facing Wilder next year.

Povetkin was suppose to fight Deontay Wilder this year, but a failed drug test stopped this from coming to fruition. Povetkin will be forced to undergo VADA 24/7 drug-testing to compete for the WBC title or hold title.
