Big Baby Miller wins on ShoBox, Karim Mayfield robbed of comeback win

Heavyweight Jarrell “Big Baby” Miller (18-0-1, 16 KOs) scored a third round TKO over veteran Fred Kassi (18-6-1, 10 KOs) on Friday night at the outdoor Rhinos Stadium in Rochester, NY. The nearly 300 lbs. Miller struggled up until landing the game changing right hand on Kassi which put him to sleep. After the fight, Miller said he wants to “…break Deontay Wilder’s jaw!”

Lightweight “Rock Hard Mighty” Mason Menard (32-1, 24 KOs) scored a brutal ninth round KO over Bahodir “Baha” Mamadjonov (18-3, 11 KOs). Mamadjonov’s awkwardness held off Menard for a while, but the power was too much as it was as he claimed the vacant NABO title.

Welterweight Bakhtiyar Eyubov (11-0, 10 KOs) seemingly robbed San Francisco, CA’s Karim Mayfield (19-4-1, 11 KOs) of a big fight in the future as he was gifted a spilt decision. Eyubov relied upon his power to stop Mayfield and once he gassed out, Mayfield appeared to outpoint him quite soundly, even the Showtime telecast had Mayfield winning the fight. Eyubov was deducted a point for a low blow in round eight. The cores were 95-94, 95-94 Eyubov, 95-94 Mayfield, which were very unpopular

Bantamweight Antonio Nieves (16-0-2, 8 KOs) fought to another draw against Alejandro Santiago (11-2-2, 3 KOs)in a fun fight to watch. Scores were 96-94 Nieves, 96-94 Santiago and 95-95.
