Chocolatito, Kamegai victorious on HBO

Undefeated WBC flyweight champion Roman “Chocolatito” Gonzalez, (46-0, 38 KOs) dethroned previously undefeated WBC super flyweight champion Carlos “Principe” Cuadras (35-1-1, 27 KOs) by twelve round unanimous decision on Saturday night at the Forum in Los Angeles. “Chocolatito” was able to land cleaner shots, but was getting a bit more then one would of hoped. The judges saw the bout 117-111, 116-112, 115-113.

The co-main event saw super middleweight slugger Yoshihiro Kamegai (27-3-2, 24 KOs) handed out a one-sided beatdown to Jesus “El Renuente” Soto Karass (28-11-4, 18 KOs) from the opening bell on Saturday night at the Forum in Los Angeles. Kamegai simply beat him down with constant pressure as a body shot set-up the stoppage that more than likely ended Karass’ career. The fight ended in the eighth round.
