After a week or so of speculation, WBC and WBO light welterweight champion Terence “Bud” Crawford (29-0, 20 KOs) will be defending his title next month against  John Molina Jr. (29-6, 23 KOs) on December 10 on HBO Championship Boxing in Crawford’s hometown at the CenturyLink Center in Omaha, Nebraska.

The fight was announced today as a press kit was sent out for a press conference on Thursday to announce the fight.

The December 10 date on HBO was previously linked to IBF/WBA/WBC middleweight champion Gennady “GGG” Golovkin, who will not return until next year.

Molina Jr. is coming off a win over Ruslan Provodnikov on Showtime earlier this year.
