Golden Boy lawsuit against Al Haymon dismissed

News broke late-last night via the ever popular website, FightHype.com, revealed that the Golden Boy Promotions lawsuit against Al Haymon has been thrown out.

A U.S. District Judge in Los Angeles dismissed the 300 million dollar lawsuit saying that Haymon did not act as a “sham promoter”.

The ugly trial was made even uglier as it appeared Golden Boy executives used racial slurs to refer to Al Haymon in corporate e-mails

To understand the extent of the lawsuit, read this article by Paul Gift, that clearly explains issues of contention by Golden Boy towards Al Haymon.

The case seemingly in context looks as though Golden Boy sued Haymon out of spite with little beyond personal issues that could not build upon an anti-trust lawsuit. Beyond that Golden Boy was unable to show how Haymon “forced” fighters not to work with Golden Boy Promotions.
