Light heavyweight contender Andrzej Fonfara (29-4, 17 KOs) picked up a major win on Saturday with a 10th round TKO of former world champion Chad Dawson (34-5, 19 KOs).

Dawson had the edge earlier, but appeared to slow down in the fight. Fonfara upped his work rate and dropped Dawson in the ninth round, but Dawson was able to get to his feet.

In the tenth and final round, Dawson was not as lucky. Fonfara dropped him again as Dawson was unable to continue.

This was Fonfara’s first bout with Virgil Hunter as his head coach.
