Carlos Cuadras barely gets by David Carmona
Former super flyweight world champion Carlos Cuadras (36-1-1 27KOs) picked a close decision over game opponent David Carmona (20-4-5 8KOs) in a fairly exciting fight on the Gennady Golovkin vs. Daniel Jacobs undercard.
Cuadras, who started somewhat well, looked flat for most of the fight often getting outworked by Carmona and seemingly landing the shots with less thud or cleanliness. Yet, the judges saw the bout 97-93 two times and 96-94 all for Cuadras.
Though the outcome might of been what Cuadras wanted, the crowd booing and not happy with the performance may have hampered his future rematch with Roman “Chocolatito” Gonzalez as it appeared the fans were not pleased.
