Ryan Martin stops Brynt Cruz to start PPV
Undefeated lightweight prospect Ryan Martin (18-0 11KOs) just was too good for Bryant Cruz (17-2 8KOs) as Martin beat up Cruz to start the pay-per-view portion of the Gennady Golovkin vs. Daniel Jacobs HBO PPV card. Martin just had too many tools and offensive options for Cruz, who by the sixth round looked befuddled and defeated.
The referee stopped the bout in the eight round at 45 seconds despite not one knockdown happening since Martin was that dominate.
Martin, whose nickname “bluechip boxing” looked every bit of a future star in the television opener.
