Jason Quigley tested by Tapia,Randy Caballero wins close fight

Middleweight Jason Quigley (13-0 11KOs) did what most expected as he stopped Glen Tapia (23-4 15KOs) in the main event from Fantasy Springs Casino and Resort in Indio, CA for the first ESPN Golden Boy card for their two-year contractual obligation.

Tapia had moderate success in the first round until getting hit with overhand right that rocked in him in the first round. Tapia was nearly dropped in the second with a body shot as Tapia began to get hit a lot as a slip ended the second round.

After four rounds though it appeared Quigley gassed out as Tapia went to war with each other for six rounds.

The judges scored the bout 100-90, 99-91 and 98-92.

Former world champion Randy Caballero (24-0 14KOs) defeated Jesus Ruiz (36-8-5 25KOs) by the closest of margins. Ruiz, started strong appeared to win four out of the first five rounds with Caballero according to the judges win the final rounds. The bout saw both fighters in the pocket trading with neither taking control of the fight.

The judges scored the bout 97-93, 96-94 and 96-94 all for Caballero
