Terence Crawford defeats Felix Diaz in MSG

WBC and WBO super lightweight champion Terence Crawford (31-0 21KOs) defended his title against game challenger Felix Diaz (19-2 9KOs) from Madison Square Garden in New York City, New York.

Crawford seemingly cruised to victory as he made a former gold medal Olympian look beyond mortal. In the first round, Crawford came out southpaw and used his straight shots to pepper Diaz. – The second round saw Diaz’s best punch of the fight, a lead right hook that landed seconds before the bell rang.

Crawford, who wasn’t the biggest fan of that punch jawed with Diaz before going back to his corner. Crawford displayed a healthy slew of punches such as uppercuts and straight lefts that seemingly couldn’t miss even if Crawford tried to miss.

In the middle of the fight, Crawford even would entice Diaz to throw punches by mocking him in the ring. Despite Diaz being one of the best super lightweights, he was simply outclassed by Terence Crawford.

After taking several rounds of clean punches, the fight was called off by the corner in between the 10th and 11th.
