Miguel Cotto vs. Kamegai set for August 26th in Carson, CA

Former pound for pound fighter and four division world champion Miguel Cotto will return to the ring after leaving former promoter, Roc Nation Sports, to face Yoshihiro Kamegai, per the great Lance Pugmire of the LA Times.

The bout which will be promoted by Golden Boy Promotions will take place at the popular Carson, CA venue, the StubHub Center and will oddly also have the WBO junior middleweight title on the line, the one Saul “Canelo” Alvarez recently vacated when moving up to middleweight.

Cotto, who has been training at Wild Card Boxing Gym in Hollywood, CA, has been training intermittently for the fight, but without a fight date camp had yet to start.

Kamegai, on the other hand has made his name by being a high-level brawler, who made his name by giving Robert Guerrero a tough fight as well as recently stopping Jesus Soto Karass.

Ticket information will be released as soon as it is available.
