Chris Van Heerden in talks to fight LaMont Peterson

On the most recent episode of ITR Radio, veteran reporter Sevak Sarkisian interviewed Chris van Heerden, who shed light a lot of issues including why he is not with Freddie Roach anymore, which if you haven’t listen to it you should do so now.

The big takeaway from the interview was that van Heerden is very close to fighting for the WBA world welterweight title against current champion LaMont Peterson. Van Heerden explained that he is no longer with his old manager that he fired him 30 minutes prior to the Errol Spence Jr. fight as he locked his manager out of the dressing room.

Van Heerden is now working with Peter Kahn, a manager with a lot of experience in the sport, who use to work heavily with Don King, in Don King’s hay day.

Van Heerden, who was set unofficially to fight Kell Brook, if Brook beat Errol Spence, now is in close to obtaining the fight per van Heerden.

No date or venue has been set as of the time of this report.
