Mario Barrios wins on FS1 – continues hunt for title

Top-ten contender Mario Barrios (20-0, 12 KOs) scored a seventh round TKO over Naim Nelson (13-4, 1 KO) in a welterweight bout on Tuesday night at the Sands Bethlehem Events Center in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Nelson was outgunned by Barrios’ ability as well as hand speed, but also appeared to have an issue you with his shoulder. The fight was waived off in the seventh

 

Lightweight Thomas Velasquez (9-0-1, 5 KOs) who is trained by Angel Garcia fought to a draw with Tyrome Jones (4-2-1, 1 KO) .The judges saw the bout 59-55 Jones, 59-55 Valezquez, 57-57.

The opening bout saw light heavyweight Earl Newman (10-0-1, 7 KOs) get a draw with game veteran Paul Parker (8-2-1, 4 KOs). The judges saw the bout 79-73 Newman, 77-75 Parker, 76-76.
