Daniel Jacobs wins wide decision over Luis “Cuba” Arias

by Kevin Horn

Middleweight contender Daniel Jacobs (33-2, 29 KOs) proved too much for the young prospect Luis “Cuba” Arias (18-1, 9 KOs) as he outgunned the young fighter early and often in the main event at the Nassau Coliseum in Uniondale, New York.

Jacobs stunned Arias in the first round and things didn’t get better for Arias. The bout got flat-out ugly as Jacobs began to berate Arias who heavily trash-talked him in the build-up to the fight even scolding him in the end of the ninth round.

The judges scored the bout 118-109, 120-107, 119-108 all for Daniel Jacobs
