Prospect of the Year: Ryan Garcia

Prospect of the Year – Ryan Garcia

Golden Boy Promotions might be in rough shape outside of Canelo Alvarez with a series of talented fighters who are not necessarily drawn compiling the roster, but that might have changed with Ryan Garcia. The young 19-year-old is already 13-0 with 12 KOs and when I saw him fight Miguel Carrizoza in Las Vegas, he needs only 30 seconds to stop the game veteran.

What is so impressive about Garcia is his speed and power combined with an innate ability to want to finish the fight and close the show. Garcia also defeated Cesar Valenzuela, who has defeated many a prospect as well as given stern tests to many fighters. Garcia ran through the aging veteran and before his twentieth birthday is on the verge of entering the top 20 of his division no small feat for any fighter
