Northern and Central California fight of the year – Eddie Diaz vs. Luis Garcia II

In a rematch that was put on by local Northern California promoter Mike Bazan, Luis Garcia and Eddie Diaz did battle over all eight rounds of a regional title fight in a bout that was nothing short of entertaining. The bout was a rematch from when Luis Garcia was knocked out in two rounds by Eddie Diaz to start 2017, Garcia had left his previous coach and trained closer to his home of Richmond, CA, in hopes of a different result.

Garcia nearly knocked out Diaz in the first round, but was unable to finish him, Diaz regained his legs by the third and finished the fight pushing forward and giving Garcia a very tough fight. In a fight in which a lot of punches were thrown, both fighters performed admirably in the best fight from Northern California all year.
