ShoBox results: O’Shaquie Foster upsets Jon Fernandez

Veteran super featherweight O’Shaquie Foster (14-2 8KOs) proved to be too much of a step-up for 23-year-old Jon Fernandez (16-1 14KOs) of Spain who looked lost at times getting outboxed by Foster once he released his power wouldn’t take over in the main event of ShoBox: The Next Generation card from the Firelake Arena in Shawnne, Oklahoma. The fight was dictated by Fernandez’s power early, but the Veteran Foster stayed composed and won the latter half of the fight showing a lot of Fernandez’s flaws, mainly that he stands too upright and is out on his front foot.

The judges saw it 98-92 on all three cards, all for Foster

In a clash of undefeated featherweights, Irvin Gonzalez Jr. (11-0, 9 KOs) won an eight round unanimous decision over Carlos Ramos (9-1, 6 KOs). Scores were 80-72, 79-73, 78-74.

Undefeated lightweights, Steven “The Hit Man” Ortiz (9-0, 3 KOs) outlasted Wesley Ferrer (12-1-1, 7 KOs) over eight competitive rounds. The judges saw the bout 76-76, 78-74, 77-75.

Undefeated super featherweights opened the ShoBox telecast as Misael Lopez (9-0, 4 KOs) scored an eight round unanimous decision over James Wilkins (5-1, 5 KOs). Wilkins has deducted a point by referee Mike England for a low blow in round five. Wilkins also appeared to knockdown Lopez in round seven, but it was not called. The judges saw the bout 79-72, 77-74, 76-75.
