Katie Taylor defeats Cindy Serrano in co-main event in Boston

Impressive IBF and WBA women’s lightweight champion Katie Taylor continued her meteoric rise to fame as she defeated women’s boxing legend Cindy Serrano by a wide margin at the TD Garden in Boston, Mass.

Taylor stalked Serrano from the opening bell as her constant pressure along with combination punching that came after Serrano would miss a punch. Taylor is a storm in the ring and in the sixth round she became more fierce noticeably effecting Serrano.

Taylor mocked Serrano in the seventh as she put herself on the ropes as Roy Jones Jr. did in the past, as she clearly outpointed Serrano. A frustrated Serrano was looking to engage more in the later rounds, but at one point Serrano trailed Taylor in power punches landed 19 to 109, with Taylor landing nearly 100 more.

For Taylor, this was another impressive performance on her resume.
