Yves Ulysse Jr. vs Maximilliano Becerra added to Canelo undercard

Former Northern California fighter Maximilliano Becerra (16-2-2 8KOs), who use to train out of the Vacaville PAL, will face Yves Ulysse Jr. in a 10-round bout in the super lightweight division on the undercard of Canelo Alvarez vs. Rocky Fielding at Madison Square Garden in New York City, New York on Saturday, December 15th.

Becerra, a solid amateur who started off his amateur career with essentially all knockouts, something uncommon for most fighters in the amateurs, has turned into a solid, seasoned professional. Becerra’s two losses come to Top Rank’s Arnold Barboza Jr., a world title contender, and former Premier Boxing Champions prospect Kevin Watts. Becerra has been a sparring partner for Vasyl Lomachenko, and a fighter whom many feel hasn’t had his vintage performance.

Yves Ulysse Jr (16-1 9KOs) is a tough-nosed professional boxer, who has made a career upsetting a-side fighters. Ulysse Jr. has Golden Boy Promotions prospect Zachary Ochoa as well as a one-sided decision over Star Boxing prospect, whom  HBO Boxing was heavily interested in, in Celtus Seldin. Ulysses sole loss was to Steve Claggett by split decision, meaning even in a loss, he has never been soundly beaten.

This is a bout that might be off the radar for some, but is a very evenly matched, competitive bout that will be featured on the streaming portion on DAZN.
