Chavez Jr. off Wilder-Fury undercard, “J-Rock” Williams added to card

Though we do not know the reason, Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. will not return as planned this coming Saturday night on the Deontay Wilder vs Tyson Fury in Los Angeles, Ca at The Staples Center.

Chavez Jr. was scheduled to fight fellow Mexican Alfredo Angulo, Angulo who was taking the fight extremely serious moved his whole family to Big Bear Lake, Ca, to train with Abel Sanchez for the bout.

In place of this bout, junior middleweight contender who was rumored to be on the card prior, Julian “J-Rock” Williams will face Francisco Castro in a ten-round bout.

Williams originally appeared set to face  Takeshi Inoue in an IBF junior middleweight eliminator for a world title shot, but Inoue appears to have taken a fight with WBO super welterweight champion Jaime Munguia. Williams is currently the number one contender for Jarrett Hurd’s IBF world title, Hurd fights on this card as well.

As for Chavez Jr., this yet another misstep in an ill-fated career that has been marred by weight problems, lack of discipline, and just an overall disregard for the sport of boxing.
