Jarrett Hurd knocks out Jason Welborn, Charlo next?

IBF and WBA super welterweight world champion Jarrett Hurd had to earn his victory tonight against Jason Welborn in a scheduled 12-round defense of his two world titles, in the co-main event of Deontay Wilder vs. Tyson Fury, live on pay-per-view, from the Staples Center in Los Angeles, Ca.

Hurd found himself in a competitive bout for two rounds, but the third saw a shot buzz Hurd at the end of the round, which seemed to wake him up and bring out the dog in Hurd. The next round saw a great body attack end the fight as a right body shot sent Welborn to the canvas, Welborn debated standing up, but in the end, favored against it.

The end of the bout came at 1:55 of the fourth round.

After the bout, Hurd made it clear his future intentions as WBC super welterweight champion Jermell Charlo entered the ring after.

“We definitely want Mr. Charlo!” said Hurd.

“That is easy money!” said Jermell Charlo.
