Former super welterweight world champion Sadam Ali (27-2 14KOs) defeated tricky veteran Mauricio Herrera (24-8 7KOs) in a ten-round decision at Madison Square Garden in New York City, New York.

The bout was tactical as Ali was coming off a brutal knockout loss to Jaime Munguia earlier this year, and this was a win over a reputable opponent. Herrera made Ali work for every minute of every round, but it felt as the decision was never up in the air.

The judges saw the bout 100-90, 99-91, 98-92.
