Sierra Martinez Sells Out Arena In Texas In Massive Amateur Fight

Rising amateur star Sierra Martinez picked up a massive win in front of a sold-out Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas, the same arena Vergil Ortiz Jr. vs Maurice Hooker will fight in, on this past Saturday, February 27th, as she defeated Jennifer Lozano, in one of the most anticipated and exciting fights of the year.

Martinez, a decorated pure boxer was pushed to the limit having to showcase all of her skills, and in every capacity as Lozano’s will, age and pressure made the bout thrilling.

To add drama to the bout, Paul Reyes and the Reyes boxing family had deep ties to this bout, as Vincent Reyes was in Sierra Martinez’s corner, while Paulie Ayala, the first fighter to beat Johnny Tapia, was Jennifer Lozano. For those unaware, Ayala was trained by Paul Reyes.

Martinez had just came off an extensive camp with Rianna Rios in the DMV (D.C./Maryland/Virginia) area, and Lozano appears to be gearing up to go to the next phase of her career, which seems to be the pro ranks, in the near future.

The thing is – often in the sport of boxing we rarely talk about the good, and these two women’s boxers just sold-out a massive venue, put on one of the best fights of the year.
